Mr. Strickland is a Physical Security practitioner with over 20 years of both federal civilian and private sector experience. He served for 12 years with the US Navy as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal technician and then transitioned to federal service as a physical security and risk management process subject-matter-expert.



Mr. Strickland has worked for the Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service (DS), the Administrative Office of the United States Courts (AOUSC), and the General Services Administration (GSA) where he has designed the security programs for federal office buildings and federal courthouses. He conducted risk and threat assessments at US diplomatic missions, federal office buildings and federal courthouses. During Mr. Strickland's civilian federal service, he also was a key member of a small team who wrote the Interagency Security Committee (ISC) Risk Management Process (RMP) governing document. Mr. Strickland served as a master instructor for the ISC RMP training course offered by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) designed to teach participants to use the ISC approved risk management process for security of federal facilities and campuses. Mr. Strickland, the Principal at Building Security Associates (BSA), provides enterprise level physical security assessments and risk management services for the public and private sectors. Additionally, he helped develop and now delivers Active Assailant and Emergency Management Preparedness Reviews for Kiernan Group Holdings across the private and public sector, with emphasis on schools, health care facilities and houses of worship.
